An outside tap that leaks into a wall needs more than a new hose washer. Spivak Plumbing repairs and replaces hose bibs, installs frost-free taps and works on exterior water lines in Toronto and York Region. Tell us whether the leak happens at the spout, handle or pipe connection.

Find where the water is going
An exterior drip is easy to spot. Water inside the house when the tap is opened is a different warning. Stop using that connection and arrange an assessment. A photo of the tap and the accessible indoor pipe can help explain the layout. Note whether the tap was damaged, froze during winter or has been leaking since a recent change.
Frost-free does not mean no maintenance
A frost-free tap needs the right installation for the wall and interior pipe position. It also needs the seasonal care specified for that model. Ask how to prepare the fixture for cold weather and where its isolation valve is located. Do not assume the product name protects every connected section of pipe. The indoor arrangement matters just as much as the fitting outside.
Replacing an exterior line
The route and exposure of the line affect the job. Tell us whether it passes through a finished wall or continues to an outdoor fixture farther from the building. Access may be needed on both sides of the wall. If excavation or changes to surrounding finishes are involved, those responsibilities should be set out before work starts. The scope should also identify how the line will be isolated.
Book before a small leak spreads
For homes in Thornhill, King City and Richmond Hill, send your city and a description of the connection. Let us know if the shut-off valve is hard to reach or does not work. You do not need to take the tap apart before calling. We can review the symptoms and arrange the next step during business hours. Have any available product instructions or previous service records ready for the discussion. They can help identify what has changed and what still needs to be checked at the property.
