SPIVAK PLUMBING · TORONTO & YORK REGION

Drains & Sewers

One slow sink is different from water backing up in several fixtures. Spivak Plumbing clears residential drains and investigates sewer problems in Toronto and York Region. Snaking, hydro jetting and camera inspections each have a place. We choose the approach after looking at the symptoms, pipe condition and available access.

Work covered

  • Clogged drains and snaking
  • Hydro jetting and camera inspections
  • Main sewer line repair and replacement

What the blockage tells us

Tell us which fixtures are affected and what happens when another fixture runs. A toilet that gurgles when the washing machine drains is useful information. So is a basement drain that backs up during heavy rain. If the line was recently cleared, tell us when and how long the improvement lasted. Repeated clearing without investigating the cause can leave you with the same problem.

Clearing the line

A snake can work through certain obstructions. Hydro jetting uses water to clear suitable lines and buildup. Neither method should be selected without considering the pipe and the blockage. Let us know if drain chemicals have been added. Keep access to any known cleanout clear, but do not open a backed-up line yourself to prepare for the visit.

Seeing what is inside

A camera can show visible conditions in an accessible drain or sewer. Roots, an obstruction or damage may explain why trouble keeps returning. The view has limits when the line cannot be reached or is full. We use the findings with the symptoms to discuss the next step. If a main sewer line needs repair or replacement, the scope should identify the section involved and the access required.

Plan the visit

For a home in Richmond Hill, Markham or Aurora, include your city and the affected fixtures in the inquiry. For a Toronto house with older drains, any record of earlier sewer work helps. Clearing a blockage and repairing a damaged line are separate decisions. Ask what the proposed work is expected to resolve before authorizing it. Have any available product instructions or previous service records ready for the discussion. They can help identify what has changed and what still needs to be checked at the property.
