What an inspection can show
Accessible supply lines, fixture connections and visible drainage can reveal conditions worth addressing. Concealed pipes behind finished surfaces cannot all be assessed without opening them. Tell us about leaks, previous repairs and known alterations. If the inspection is connected to a sale, explain what information is needed and the timing. An inspection is not a guarantee about every pipe in the property.
Separate findings from assumptions
A stain can show that water has been present without proving the current source. An older pipe may need investigation rather than immediate replacement. We discuss observable conditions and questions that need more access or testing. Keep previous invoices and reports available. They can help distinguish an old repair from a new issue and keep the discussion focused on actual evidence.
Pipe insulation
Insulation can be useful on exposed piping where heat loss, condensation or cold conditions are concerns. The suitable material depends on the pipe and its surroundings. Covering a wet or leaking section is not a repair. Existing moisture needs assessment first. Access to valves and service points should remain practical after insulation is installed. Ask what the proposed work is meant to address at that location.
Prepare the property
For a home in North York, Markham or Newmarket, provide the city and property type with your inquiry. Clear normal access under sinks and to visible service areas. Do not remove building materials yourself to prepare. Tell us if you want inspection work, insulation work or both. The agreed scope should explain what is included and how the findings will be communicated. Have any available product instructions or previous service records ready for the discussion. They can help identify what has changed and what still needs to be checked at the property.
