- Frozen pipe assessment and repairs
Before we arrive
If a known shut-off valve is within safe reach, close it to limit the leak. Keep clear of standing water near electrical equipment. Do not remove a wall or ceiling to find a pipe yourself. A photograph of the wet area and an accessible connection can help us understand what you are seeing. Tell us if the water runs constantly or appears only when a fixture is used.
Find the source, then repair it
Water can travel along a pipe or joist before it becomes visible. We start with the symptoms and the accessible plumbing, then explain what needs further checking. A loose connection and a damaged pipe call for different repairs. Before work goes ahead, the affected area, access needed and proposed repair should be clear. If opening a finished surface is necessary, that needs to be discussed first.
Frozen lines and repeat leaks
An exposed line near an outside wall can be vulnerable in cold weather. Do not use an open flame to thaw it. Let us know which taps have stopped flowing and whether the pipe has frozen before. Once it thaws, a split may begin leaking. For a recurring leak, bring any previous repair details so the same section is not assessed without its history.
Booking a repair
We serve homes in North York, Thornhill, Vaughan and the other communities listed on our Service Areas page. Have the property address and a callback number ready. The form is useful for sending a description, but sending it does not reserve an appointment. Our hours are Monday to Sunday, 7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (7 days a week).
